Green Smoothie Love Part II

in Breakfast Ideas, Recipe

If you’ve been faithfully blending up the green sludge I wrote about in Part I , then you might also be ready for a variation. I would encourage you to play around and throw in whatever you feel would be tasty, as long as it keeps the sugar content low-ish.

So in honor of Apple Season here in the glorious state of New York, let’s try using some apples

Try this one and let me know what you think:

1 cored granny smith apple
1 cored pear
1″ of ginger
2 Tbs flax seeds
6 large kale leaves (minus the woody stems), or 2 handfuls of spinach
juice of 1 small lemon
1 cup of filtered water

Add low-glycemic fruit, cucumbers, slivered almonds, coconut, fresh herbs or different dark leafy greens for tasty variations on this recipe.

oooh, tart and refreshing! I think I’ll plug this one into my morning routine periodically.

xo!
